It might seem like a really stupid question to snake owners and breeders but i've been looking at tonnes of American websites suggesting Ball Pythons as pets. I just want to make sure you can get them here. Help???

I'm not Australian but my understanding is that, as a beginner, you will need to apply for a level 1 license that will allow you to keep only certain species of snakes, all of which are native to Australia. I believe that non-native species are at best rare but I'm not sure of their legal status as pets in Australia . The license requirements for keeping reptiles may differ from state to state. Hopefully one of the Australian members will chime in and clarify.

Additional info: After a bit of looking, it seems you are completely out of luck. Only licensed zoos may keep exotic reptiles in Australia, private people cannot possess non-native species.

I am from America , and I agree sounds like a scam. Find (or try to find) someone in Australia that breeds them, you will have more success with it being healthy.Africa I hate to say is a hub for scams at this time. Just protect your self . There are a lot of established breeders on the internet.Good luck in your search.
