Vapor lock happens when the fuel gets too hot, and the gasoline turns to vapor or boils and turns into a gas. When this happens the engine will not get enough fuel to fire. I remember back some time ago with a 55 Ford, we used aluminum foil to insulate the fuel line, and also used wooden spring loaded clothes pins to clamp onto the lines for hear sinks. It worked fairly good. With the higher fuel pressures today, you don't really hear about it vapor lock too much.

Vapor lock is a condition when the fuel in your fuel line boils out leaving a vapor.
When this happens, it becomes very difficult to fire up the car until cooler fuel is pumped up from the fuel tank.
The cure is to either insulate or relocate fuel lines away from hot areas in the engine compartment, such as the exhaust system or engine itself.

Yes (don't use the starting fluid) What you wont to do is after you get gas in it is to with out starting the engine is to just bump the switch like you r going to start it , do that about 10 times , and that will get the gas up to the engine and then it should start as long as it gets fuel pressure good luck
