I agree with you. The third one is just way more imaginative than all the others. I also like the fact that Harry is still young and learning about things, not just worrying about Voldemort all the time. As a matter of fact, this book is the only one where he doesn't actually face Voldemort. Instead, he gets a huge twist, which introduces my favorite character Sirius. This book out of all the others warms my heart and makes the best read :·]

It's such a hard call! It goes back and forth between Books 4 and 6, but the movie of 'Order of the Phoenix' gave me a whole new appreciation of the book that I hadn't had before. I thought Book 7 was well done, and I can't imagine a better end to the Harry Potter series, but the tent got old fast. To conclude: my favorite books would have to be numbers 4 and 6.

My rankings from best book in the series to not as great (Cause I really do like them all, just in different degrees) in the series are as follows:
The last one, Deathly Hallows, is my favorite because it brings the lose ends together, answers a lot of questions, and holds quite a bit of action.
Next I would say that it is a tie between the 3rd, Prizoner of Azkaban, and the 4th, Goblet of Fire, because I loved learning about Harry's true past and I really enjoyed the magic and the events (except for a few dark ones at the end) of the fourth book.
Next in my rankings is number 2, Chamber of Secrets, followed closely by numero uno, the Sorceror's (or Philosopher's) stone, because they were the books that I was first introduced to the series (It took me a few years to join the trend)
Then it would be the fifth, Order of the Phoenix, because I really liked the Dumbledore's Army (DA), which brings it to a slightly higher ranking than the 6th, Half-Blood Prince, which I personally felt was a little dark for my tastes

I have to agree that book three (Prisoner of Azkaban) was really good. I also liked book four (Goblet of Fire) and the last book (Deathly Hallows). I liked these three all for different reasons. I liked the story line and Harry finding Sirius in book 3, I liked how Harry and Ron learned more about friendship in book 4....and the tourment was amazing. I loved the way book 7 ended. It was just about as perfact as she could do it. It was a great ride.....

I'd have to say the 7th book. Probably just because it put everything to a close and it was "the book with the answers". After that I'd have to say the 6th then 4th. Personally I think the later books are better just because the whole thing really takes shape and you start to understand more but also learn about more things that really get you questioning and thinking about things.

While I love them all, there is something about the 3rd book that has always stood out to me. You meet 2 of my favorite characters in it, plus learn a whole lot about the past. I also love the 1st one, especially the beginning where Harry is first learning about the magical world. Excellent.

I LOVED book 4 due to the detail that was given in thoughts and surroundings. Book 7 as well since it explains it all.
