Sure, take everything into consideration. But consider also the issue he worked on for Planned Parenthood and possible reasons for doing so.
Some prolifers actually opposed the gag rule that prevented groups which receive federal funds from mentioning abortion. They might have opposed it due to First Amendment concerns, or even because they thought it was counter productive from a prolife perspective. They might have thought it would be better to reach an agreement whereby Planned Parenthood could mention abortion if they provided full information regarding fetal development and the medical and emotional risks of having an abortion.
So much is unknown, but Thompson should offer an explanation or confession. It is hard to understand how he could have forgotten, but who knows how many cases a lawyer takes where he doesn't like the people or idea he is representing.
By the way, Lincoln once represented a slave owner against a run-away slave when he practiced law. see: http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo56.html .

Yes and Rudi dressed in drag for a fund raiser, and Romney was a liberal Republican turned conservative, and the Ron Paul train of zealout libertarians calling themselves Republicans goes on.....

Republicans are being gutless cowards on this issue, because they are no longer looking at morality, but what is in their bank account.

They really should not.
Thompson was an attorney representing a client.
And they should not hold him personally responsible for the positions his client chose to take.

Yes.
Will they? No.
They are idiots. If Bernie Sanders was running with an "R" next to his name and they thought he could win, they would support him.

Reagan was a democrat so I don't think it is particularly relevant unless it reflects his views now.
