Where did you get that notion...I mean...that it was unprovoked.
The UN endorsed the Gulf War, the cease fire agreement, and UN resolutions that promised the gravest of circumstances if Saddam Hussein did not comply.
So where did you get the impression that the thing was unprovoked?
It was all completely provoked, so your UN charter and unConstitutional strawman...is specious.

Unless the UN Security Council gives permission. Which it did.
I dont think resolutions passed in nov 2002 had anything to do with Kuwait Longhair. What part of authorized member states to use all means nescessary isnt understandable.
""Sadly it seems the UN only becomes important when the U.S. government benefits from it!""
No Kelly only when someone claims something is illegal when it wasnt.
Whether it was the right thing to do or not is arguable. Whether it was illegal or not isn't. Have some common sense that if there was any case for this it would have already been prosecuted.

Did you know that violating U.N. resolutions violates the U.N. Charter - and Saddam did it numerous times with impunity.
Over two years ago, the U.N. initiated a resolution authorizing the use of a 22,000 member peace keeping force to deploy into Dafur - the Sudanese president, Omar Hassan al-Bashhir, rejected this resolution and the U.N. promptly backed down.
This is unfortunate, the world needs this organization, but the organization has become corrupt and inconsistent, and as such, is not much of a guide in determining what is illegal and what isn't anymore.
In my opinion, when it comes to defending the United States - the U.N. can simply take a back seat.

Who cares--$crew the globalist, communist United Nations, Soros, Murdock, the Bushes, the World Bank and anything else that threatens the sovereignty of the United States.
Why hasn't the UN done something positive--to alleviate hunger, or African genocide, or out of control Islamic fundamentalism, or China attempting to poison the world with its incompetency? Why did the UN fail in their mandate to make the world a better place--do they think they have to destroy the United States and take its military to do that? Who would back that failed organization?
Find another bandwagon to hop on.

The U.S. has continuously - in simple terms approximately through fact the U.N.'s very inception - made clean to actual everyone that it reserves the wonderful to act by using itself and do despite it needs while not having to respond to to those different stupid detrimental countries interior the international. The U.S. signed the Geneva convention interior the '80s with many caveats that somewhat make the U.S. exempt from having to nicely known the treaty or be punished for violating it. you ought to have an interest to study up on the pathetic background of the Geneva convention's passage interior the U.S. Legislators (extremely of the Southern conservative persuasion) refused to ratify the convention for some years through fact they feared it ought to be used against the U.S. by using different countries (Gee, i ask your self why? Der.) or used against people who had lynched or discriminated against blacks interior the U.S. yet, definite, I trust you. The U.S. refused to even reprimand Hussein for using chemical weapons interior the '80s. we are a team of entire hypocrites for pretending we abruptly care approximately it now, 2 many years later. it is appreciably agreed that Hussein's offensives against the Kurds qualify as genocide. however the U.S. has by no potential been especially in touch approximately battling issues like that.

Unprovoked war of aggression? Saddam invaded Kuwait in an unprovoked war of aggression. We kicked his butt back to Bagdad and after he thumbed his nose at the UN and violated the cease-fire (that's right- cease-fire) agreement 17 times and kicked the weapons inspectors out to move the WMDs to Syria we went back to set him straight. It was NOT unprovoked! Maybe you need to brush up a little on history.

Sadly it seems the UN only becomes important when the U.S. government benefits from it!!
I can't believe how many people think the U.S. violating UN decisions is OK but still use Iraq not abiding by UN sanctions as justification for the U.S. to invade Iraq!!
Evidently many people don't realize that the U.S. is primarily the reason that the UN even exists!!

Do you really think the government gives a dam what the rest of the world thinks. As long as we think we are right our government will keep doing what it wants. This is why we are hated around the world because of one stubborn man who put his foot down and it's going to stay down regardless of what you think or what congress thinks.
