When eating in a buffet, since ladies should go first, should they be fixing a plate for their man?

I was always taught at home, the woman should serve the man first since he was working hard all day and also out of love and respect for him. However, at a restaurant buffet, etiquette dictates that women should be allowed to go first. If this is so, should they first fix a plate for their man, and then go back to the buffet line?

At home I serve my man but if we are at a restaurant buffet, he can get his own food like a big boy. There is a lot of food to choose from so it would be easier for him to just do it his self unless he planned on eating whatever I put on his plate. Me personally....I wouldn't want to make 2 trips to the buffet line because it looks kind of tacky.

It's a buffet. It would be easier for the man to fix his own plate because he knows what he would want. Besides, you would be the one to look like a moron for sitting at the table by yourself while a woman fixes you plate as if you are a child, don't you think?

No. I always always taught that ladies go first but the men should be courteous and respectful. So, the man should hold the plate for the lady.

If a man can't get his own food then he is going to be pretty darn hungry at my house. A wife is not the same as your mother. If you wanted a mother you should have kept living at home with your mommy.

And in this day and age when most women also work outside the home your view is extremely antiquated and outdated.

Yes I do. If I go to a buffet we all fix our own plates. I fix my sons. but in my home I do fix the plates for the males 1st

I can't believe I really read all this cr*p. Where do you live, stuck in the 50s? You may have not noticed, but women do work as hard as men nowadays, both at home and out (i.e. they have got a job).

Nope, every man or woman for themselves!!! Men are not THAT lame....they can serve their own food. They should not rely on mommy or wifey dear to take care of everything. A man's gotta do, what a woman TELLS him to do !!! And a woman has to do, what a man CAN'T do !!!~~~~
