I think it should be a law that you should not give kids caffeine. I know people who give their kids Mountain Dew in sippy cups and I think this is wrong. What do you think?

I don't think that will be possible. You can't control what people do behind close doors.May there should be more programs to educate parents. This can start with pregnancy visits and continue when the child's visits the doctor.I was lucky to be in one of those programs when pregnant and it teach me a lot about how to feed my child healthy.Right now they are voluntary but may be programs like this should be mandatory

My son will be 3 this week, and he only gets sugar-free/caffeine free pop ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE, like diet Sprite. Caffeine, however, has been shown to have the opposite affect on kids with TRUE ADHD. Instead of hyping them up it helps them calm down and concentrate. I am a nanny for an autistic child that is SEVERE ADHD and caffeine helps more than his medication he is on for it.

And BTW...Orange pop has no caffeine!

That doesn't sound like good ideas to give toddlers soda in sippy cups. But I don't see how you can enforce such law.

'Hey kid! what you got in there? Got some of that mountain dew huh? Get your thumb out of your mouth!'

But yea little kids shouldn't be drinkin soda.

I agree. Parents need to be educated in that regard. Caffeine isn't bad for just kids. Adults should not drink it either. I have seen people give orange soda with caffeine in it to babies using baby bottles. It is scary and ignorant. Then the parents complain that their child is either sick or overweight. Shame on them.

Couldn't agree with you more. Isn't it Britney Spears that allegedly does this with Mountain Dew? Tragic.

It is wrong, but it shouldn't be against the law. Fortunately, there are laws against child abuse and neglect, but you can't make a law against bad parenting. Bad parenting's just a matter of opinion.
