You're a complete goof ball, you know that right?
I come home, I want to be all serious and stuff..then I find your questions and POW!!!!
The most unusual place I stood to make a cell phone call?
I called home to tell the girls I was jumping out of an airplane.
Sky diving.
Sort of fun. Always remember the chute. The landing takes a bit longer, but they're so much better with one than without.

I was on top of the Empire State Building having an affair to remember. Not quite as romanitic of a story as yours, however. How did you keep your phone call a secret? Were you able to keep the lid on the conversation? Actually, I don't own a cell phone. My 10 year old daughter wants one so she can talk to her friend who got one for Christmas. When I was a kid I was happy to have two tin cans with string attached to them. I am curious what the most unusual answer is to your question. I'll be checking back later to see what the most outrageous answer is.

Stood next to an emergency exit to get good reception. Triggered the alarm at Costco. They came running.

I really didn't need to stand on anything mostly I had to go towards a window more but that's about it. Or I had to keep walking. I get pretty good reception out here w/ just Verizon not At&T (or cingular w/e you wanna call it nowadays).

The roof of the building where I work. I was two floors down and couldn't get reception so I went up on the roof.

Hmm. Well, I once called in sick from a sailboat on the Columbia River about 400 miles away from my workplace. I don't know if that was an "unusual place" but it was sure gratifying!

In 6th grade i was staying after school to work on a project we had to do, but my teacher had left early so we ended up across the hall from where the thursday after school meditation class was taking place. when i called my mom to pick me up, all of the students started wailing for one of the poses :)

I had just delivered my "excesses" to the recycling center and was standing on top of a large "mountain" of discarded computer screens and other electronics. It was a bit of a paradox because while I was "On Top of the Heap" I was also "In The Dump".
