I just saw this gross looking thing that looked like a spider but had wings. Does anyone know anything about this?

I have no idea, but my own ponytail just freaked me out at the mention of flying spider. I thought for sure there was a bug on me and shuddered. ew.

There is no such thing as a flying spider (with the ability to lauch itself in the air and fly), but what they can do is climb to an elevated area (trees, buildings) and jump into the air. They then let out silk strands that get caught in the air and force they to appear to fly (like a kite). If there is no wind then they cannot fly.
In short the answer is no but they have gained the ability (like man has with planes) to carry out the task of overcoming that obstacle.

Are you serious?
Working at the airport in spring we'd get tiny spiders drifting on short lengths of web across the tarmac from the buildings 200 meters away, sometimes into your face when you're trying to marshal an aircraft onto it's bay! If I'd seen one with wings that plane would've been parking in the carpark...

Well I was looking at my ceiling and saw a spider crawling along and was like omg i have to move before it falls on me.!!! Then it flew!! Turns out it was a fly . LOL

I've seen jumping wolf spiders...they can kind of leap and it looks like they're flying...but I've never seen one with wings. Count the legs...if there are 6, it's an insect...8, an arachnid.
