Listen to my perspective for a sec. Don't get angry. Try to understand.
Sometimes I don't think suicide is a big deal/ it's not wrong, and other days I think it is a cruel and selfish act. I just saw the movie Dead Poets Society, The Elephant Man, and I was reading about people who suffer from The Fish Odor Syndrome. http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=bizarre&id=4453113
These are just a few examples.

FORGET ABOUT RELIGION FOR A SEC. IT MAY NOT EXIST. If someone is miserable, then aren't WE the SELFISH ONES to tell them not to KILLl themselves for the sake of others.
I've been in positions where I thought life was absolutely unbearable. You haven't been in my position to understand. There were times when I just wanted to end it all. I'M JUST SAYING IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DIE, LET THEM DIE. IT"S BETTER TO RIP THAN TO BE ALIVE AND LIVE IN HELL.

DON"T BOTHER ANSWERING IF YOU'RE GOING TO SAY SOMETHING WITHOUT PUTTING IT IN DEEP THOUGHT.

Tomorrow is another day and I might disagree with what I am saying now. It all depends on the situation.

WE HAVE BEEN RAISED IN A SOCIETY WHICH THAT MAKES US FEAR DEATH. WE NEED TO BE THE LEADERS AND NOT THE FOLLOWERS. THINK FOR OURSELVES.

NOT A BELIEVER OF GOD SWEETHEART.

We should believe in an after life. Maybe death wouldn't be as shattering as it is if we did.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE CAN NOT HELP YOU BECAUSE THEY DON"T UNDERSTAND.

This is frustrating hearing some of you opinions. Maybe if I truly accepted them as perspectives, they wouldn't bother me as much.

Suicide has a place in society. However, it should not be abused. All suicides have a reason behind them and should not be taken flip-idly. There is a big difference in one committing suicide because of a failed love affair and one committing suicide because of terrible pain and living with a eventually terminal condition. The first is stupid but the second is understandable.
And JAMES KNIGHT hasn't a clue!

Sometimes suicide is anothers' way of living. The pressures are sometimes too much to bear and once they find the answer (suicide) then they are ready to go. It is selfish for us to not want someone to die........but it is selfish of the suicide person to take their life away from us.......when, in fact, maybe they only needed more time to contemplate what a professional therapist might offer. Jumping off without giving all options a chance is a cowards way out. sorry if you disagree with me. Soldiers in Korea committed suicide because they all had dysentary and were going to die from dehydration anyway.....so, they just quit eating and died. That is an entire different suicide than a teenage in unrequited love killing himself/herself. Sometimes life doesn't have to be hell............if you allow yourself to open up to other options/ideas. But, too many time the suicide person thinks they will sit on the other side and watch people mourn them WRONG.............etc. Wrong...........it is so wrong. My opinion counts, also!

The fact that you yourself said that tomorrow is another day and you might not agree with what you said today is a perfect example of why suicide is not a good idea. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and it IS selfish and self centered and cowardly to just check out and quit rather than suck it up an get on with life...which can be very difficult at times. You just have to keep on keeping on.

My cousin shot himself 2 summers ago. He suffered from schizophrenia and couldn't handle the death of his mother which occurred a month earlier. He left behind an enormous number of people who loved and cared for him, including myself. I do believe that due to the circumstances he suffered from, that he is at peace.

I have also been in stages of my life when I contemplated suicide, but I am so thankful things did not work out in its favor. All that being said, I don't think that people should kill themselves because their life sucks. There is always going to be someone who has it better or worse, easier or more difficult.

I do believe in an afterlife and I think that people should think long and hard about making a permanent decision. Can't change your mind once it's been done. Hell on earth is way better than an eternal hell, which does exist (as does heaven). If it didn't, what point would any of us have in existing at all?

I'm sorry you've gone through such tough situations in life and you're right, I don't know how you or others like you feel. But, religion aside, there are people we care for and care for us. If you're in severe chronic pain and have been diagnosed with an incurable disease, okay I guess I can see your reasons for suicide. But if your just going through a tough spot in life, well I think life is worth taking a chance at. Okay, maybe things won't get better, but how can you tell. There are people that you care about, who care about you. You're suicide would shatter them. I think about doing it, at times, but that's as far as it gets, just thoughts. I've got problems, but I'm not as bad off as a lot of people and things sure could be worse. Please, think about giving life a chance. I don't even know you and I want you to live. God Bless!!! :)))

I have come close to suicide a couple of times in my life, but then I realized: My life is like a book, I need to see how it ends, naturally, NOT with suicide. That would be like quiting a good novel halfway through. We need to finish what we start. What doesn't kill us makes us Stronger, and I'm a true believer in that statement. Death will take us soon enough, no need to hasten it along.

Ummm..I understand what you mean but we are all put on this earth for a reason do you think god put us on here for us to kill ourselves? No,it may seem like its the end of the world(trust me ive been through a lot)but really there is always a positive side to things that we may not see at the time but it will come to us later. Then things would get better.

well id say if that person was suffering so much....why? they need to learn that if they wait...things WILL get better its all in patience....if you cant stand certain people get away from them theres always things that make you feel happy why dont they just do, go to, or get what makes them happy...theres always an answer to the problem, but if your not willing to find the answer you become a failure and give up....and as for the lady who smelt like fish...id say she was being selfish....she should know that there are people out there that are suffering way worse than always smelling bad..theres people out there with things they would trade any day to smell like fish for their whole life....if someone hates a part of theyre body...they should be glad that they even have that...say someone hated their arms...some people dont even have arms..be grateful that you do ....you just have to think positive...see through things...see past things, think ahead...think wisely...if the people who have commited suicide saw what theyre life wouldve been like if they have gotten help...im sure they would regret killing themselves....if you go thorugh it youll know that in the end it was worth trying, it was worth fighting..suicide is the easy way out...now this is only from my point of view ive never been through anything so bad to talk...but this is what i think...maybe it is better to just kill yourself but ive never been in that position...ok so maybe ive been a little depressed at times but things got better becasue i waited....i ignored things and got through it

Suicide is not for me-- at least not today!!! I am happy in my life, and I would never think of it, but I also understand that alot of people aren't as happy as me-- If that is their personal choice, go for it, but I can't stand the "attention cravers" who just threaten to kill themselves all the time- If you're gonna do it, do it right the first time! (Harsh I know, but I went through this with my brother. The "attempts" just get old after awhile!)

I thought about what you said for a minute; I really did.

I would rather get them help than let them die though. Also, religion does exist, there are Christians, Muslims and Catholics, plus fifty million other religions I haven't included. It is a selfish act, putting others in misery just to get yourself out of it rather than ask for help.
