The training idea of 'specificity of training' tells us that the only way to jump higher is to practice jumping higher. Just as the only way to run faster is to practice running faster.
You might be interested to learn about plyometrics. The idea is to develop muscular power that allows you to produce an explosive force immediately. This is the force you use to make a vertical jump from a dead stop.
See a good coach for help on this - it should be done with planning and supervision.
Running cross country will help with your endurance and speed. It's an excellent aerobic activity.

No, bit it wll help you lose weight so maybe without that extra weight you will jump higher. Also it helps build up your endurance and stamina like everyone else said. Id rather build up endurance and stamina cuz then you can run the whole time and your defender will get tired if he is not in as good shape as yourself.

No, but it will dramatically increase your stamina so that when the other players are tired and can't jump as high you will seem to have a better vertical leap.

no it didn't help me much when I was in high school a few years back. But running cross country did keep me skinny, I jump higher in terms of not carry any extra weight (fat) but other than that it didn't help my vertical.

Not unless you jump and leap as you run. It will increase your endurance and stamina though.

Air Alert is beautiful difficult to your legs, so i would not endorse doing it for the duration of your xc season. But earlier than could be adequate, considering that in the event you had been lifting two-three occasions every week and doing air alert three days every week and XC and basketball your efficiency could obviously pass down.
