I do, but also I remember what Hollywood (and John Wayne)made of it!

Who remembers what the Alamo fight was about, and what flag(s) flew above the old mission?
Or even that that's still argued about?

Remembering a myth of the Alamo isn't the same as remembering the history.

Yes. A very stirring example of bravery and courage. I just finished watching the movie United 93 and it reminded me of the men at the Alamo.

Well, as someone living in Texas, I certainly do remember it. I could easily visit it every day if I wished. But I'm not a NATIVE Texan, so I don't have the same uncritical adulation for it that others might.

Yeah it was great. John Wayne was in it. Richard Widmark too. Also remember the one with Billy-Bob Thornton in- that was shite
