So I'm kinda paranoid, but i think i maybe possibly could be pregnant?? I'm obviously not sure and its hard for me to tell because I've been on the depo shot for the past 2-ish years so I don't usually get my period for months and months at a time. I can't just tell or be tipped off by missing a period...if I don't usually get one. I just feel a lot more tired, always more hungry and I feel like i'm gaining weight. It could all just be in my head (and I'm hoping it is). What do you think? What could I do? I'd take a pregnancy test but i never know hwen to since I don't get my period...usually you take one if you're late. AHHH!!!!

Well i have been on the shot for about 2 years...so wouldn't any side affects (like gaining weight) already have happened? And the last time I got my shot was early/middle of july. i've always gotten my shots on time...within the 2 week window. My doctor said that if i got all my shots on time that it'd be pretty hard for me to get pregnant. I don't know...I freak out sometimes.

All of the sympotoms you describe can be linked to the depo shot as well. Since you don't say when your last shot was it is really hard to say yes or no to being pregnant. You should take a pregnancy test to set your mind at ease.
But for all intents and purposes if you are on time with your shot, in other words not getting it late, you have about 1/2 to 1 percent chance of getting pregnant. In other words it is possible to get pregnant on any type of birth control

So, 1. Take a test to see if you are indeed pregnant.
2, If it is neg. see your doctor to find out if you should change your birth control.
3. If you are so worried about getting pregnant your partner should use a condom as well.

As far as I know, the only way to tell is a pregnancy test. You can get one free at your local Planned Parenthood or "Pregnancy Resource Centers" (These people will try to convince you to keep it if you are, just take the free test and run!). At Planned Parenthood, if you think you may have gotten pregnant in that past 3 days (I think), they have a special pill you can take that will slow down your egg production or something like that (it is NOT an abortion) so that if you aren't already pregnant, you won't get pregnant if there are still some sperms looking for eggs in you.
I went through what you are going through too, and I took this pill. Didn't get pregnant.

It's a possibility that it all in your head, but if you are worried then if you had sex 7-14 days ago then go ahead and take a pregnancy test.If it was 7-14 days ago the pregnancy test will tell you if you are or not.DON'T take it sooner than 7 days because it will come out wrong. If you want the correct results it has to be 7-14 days after you've had sex.

I think it's a reaction to the depo shot. I'm not a doctor though. If you want to be sure your not pregnant, make a doctors appointment for a blood test. Good luck!!

are you still on the shot?.. if so then there's less of a chance of you being pregnant than if you had had a tubal ligation (tubes tied)... so no you're definitely not pregnant...

if you are off of the shot and you had unprotected sex then you could be pregnant... but it usually takes up to 2 years for the shot to wear off (don't count on this though)... so you still would probably not be pregnant... but just in case (and to ease your mind) go ahead and get a home pregnancy test... if you are pregnant it should say so...

as for your symptoms the shot gave me all of those ... so i wouldn't worry about that either

good luck and God bless!!

Try a test now and then another in about 30 days. Also, the depo shot REALLY sucks. I gained weight on it 15lbs. and I only had it once. I didn't change my eatting habits or anything.

ALL of the symptoms you mentioned you are having can also be associated with the Depo itself. They are ALL side effects of this medication. Google depoprovera.

No...it doesn't matter. Your body is constantly changing and you can develop side effects/symptoms at any given time when taking a medication
