it doesn't last long and the next time you do it will be MUCH easier. don't scratch!!! you'll make the regrowth much easier if you don't scratch. next time, try a short trim if you don't like the shaving.
and might i say "thank you" for all the women in your romantic future. it's far nicer to see a shaved/trim area than a bush of hairy nastiness that so many men think is sexy. yuck.

You can go to the store and buy a feminine anti-itch cream. Just make sure to put it on the outside, and no-where near the inside of your vagina. The only crappy thing is, I found I had to use it often for it to not itch much. After you shave a few times, the itching will get more bearable and not as noticable, at least this is what I've found.

It sounds as if you have whats called, razor rash. If you continue to shave frequently, this condition will be around for awhile. Always, if you use a regular shaver to always use a new blade.I worked as a medic (EMT) at summer camp for 4th and 5th grade boys. They would go swimming in the pool and continue to wear wet swimtrunks under their dry shorts or else just the wet trunks all day. It gave them a really bad rash that burned their skin around their pubic area so that they could hardly walk. I would suggest that you try GOLD BOND medicated powder. It works well and will not cause dry skin like baby powder does. Also it would not be a good idea to use an ointment, it holds your body heat and causes more irritation. If it becomes to worsen, it would be a good idea to consult with your doctor. You could also ask a pharmacist, they are helpful and as you know dealing with health problems, they are well educated.

Don't worry, the itching shouldn't last long, and you can easily soothe it with a product like hydrocortizone cream. In the future: gently exfoliate before shaving, and use stick deodorant, like Ban, after shaving. Exfoliating opens the hair follicles for a smoother, closer shave, and stick deodorant moisturizes the skin to cut down on drying and irritation from shaving! Good luck!

Word of advice, don't shave or that will happen every time. Get a Loufe and a scrub and exfoliate yourself there. After you finish follow up with rubbing alcohol and neosporin. You need to make sure you don't get any ingrown hairs. Those would be read or inflammed, you'll have to get them out with tweezers. Next time opt for a waxing, its all the a couple seconds of pain for 100% better results. Oh and trust me don't ever buy into the hair removal cremes (Nair, Epil Stop, etc.) those will leave you with possible burns. Ouch!

Spray Bactine on it, it's a antibacterial spray. It will help reduce the itching, and ingrown hairs. Make sure to put lotion on it (unscented, sensitive skin). And DONT itch it, it will just irritate your skin more. If you do get an ingrown hair, don't pluck it (it will just grow back ingrown) cut it with manicure scissors. If you don't think you can take the itching, then wait a few days until it grows back and get Nair for Men. It works. I wouldn't recommend doing it until its a good few weeks grown. Read the bottle. Good luck.

My guess is about 2 weeks of itching... the red bumps should disappear in a few days... try rubbing some anti-itch cream (hydrocortizone or other) on the affected area !

Always shave in the direction of the hair to help prevent this in future.

Gently exfoliate if you can stand it.

Use powder to soothe, make sure it is unscented!

Pure talc, pure cornstarch or pure bicarb soda are best.

24 hours should have you feeling much better!

A few days. You have razor burn and/or ingrown hairs. Put some vasoline or baby powder on it. Don't itch it because it will irritate it worse. Also, don't want to use lotions or anything scented.. it will hurt like hell. Hope this helps.
