Well, since they are plastic, there would be no harm them if you decide to take them out. BUT, if you are serius about your collection you can buy an inexpensive humidifier and put it in the room with the packages. Some packaged PEZ dispensers have the cardboard backing. If it gets moist or wet it can curl or mold/ mildew if it's in a humid environment for too long and you also run the risk of the cardboard (which is absorbent) of getting a musty odor over time. You could buy one of those $40-$60 vacuum pack sealers for food. I am a collector of many items. I live in Houston, which is very humid also. I use the large bags to put paper or fragile items that could mold mildew or rust in these conditions. I vacuum pack them and keep them that way. I have a young son, so right now my collection is not suitable for displaying. So, at least this way I can hold on to them longer should I choose to display them in the future or need them to be minty for a future sale or similar. The appliance itself can run you under $100 but it's worth it if your collection has a potential to appreciate in value. AND in the long run it would be cheaper to vacuum the items than have to buy expensive, special containers at collector shops. Good Luck!!! -Dom

Here's the website for the Pez Museum (it's located just south of San Francisco, if you want to come out here). Maybe if you contact them they can give you advice on recommendations for storage & preservation
