Update: This is turning out to be another Kobe vs. MJ slugfest. Well I guess this debate about them would go on for the longest time. As of mean time MJ lovers are leading 8-5 against the Kobe fanatics.
Keep the Voting flowing guys!!

Jordan.
Why?
Because you could see refs standing there in awe of what he did. Opposing players readidly admitted that they would stop in awe on the court at some of the things he did and also admitted to actually cheering for him during the game from their own bench.
Every playgroung kid wanted to be like Mike, tongue wagging, baggy shorts and impossible shots.
His team stated that traveling with him was like traveling with a rock band because of the mobs of fans that would attack the bus.
If that's not enough I got one more from you. A quote from Larry Bird one of the greatest players of all time.
"He's God in basketball shoes!"
End of discussion

The most exciting player I ever watched on TV was Magic Johnson. They didn't call him Magic for nothing. The guy made his teammates better. If you disagree, look at the team he carried into the finals in his last year, 1991. All Stars Worthy and Scott were injured and so the Lakers turned to.... second year center Vlade Divac, rookie Elden Campbell, and Sam Perkins (who was in his first year with the Lakers). Not surprisingly the Bulls beat the Lakers 4-1, but not without Magic getting his 29th playoff triple-double (Jordan only has 30 in his entire career with just 2 of them coming in the playoffs)
The thing about Magic is when he was running the team, you never really knew where the ball was going. But when he threw the pass it was EXACTLY the right pass in EXACTLY the right place for the player to do something with it. Too many players today simply make the pass and the recipient of the pass can't really do a lot with it. Magic knew how to set up his teammates to score. Guys who played with him had career years, and Magic put up some pretty good numbers as well.
There are a lot of guys who could shoot, a lot who could pass, a lot who could get steals, a lot who could defend and a lot who could rebound. But there were only a very few who could do all well. Magic was one of them; Oscar Robertson, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler and Scottie Pippen are a few of the others. I don't see anyone in today's game that can do what these guys could do - completely dominate a game at both ends of the floor AND in transition.

I recognise no person will believe me, however i have got to say Deron Williams. Watch any jazz sport, you'll see d-will crossover and force. He can pop up for a jumper, he can dunk, play safety. Everyone goes to mention kobe bryant, however kobe hasn't had a interesting season like d-will. A few nights in the past, the jazz have been down by means of 19 features, and d-will carried the jazz again for a interesting conclude. Its what he does, makes the sport interesting.

Michael Jordan.
His dunks especially during his early years are made for basketball posters.
His crunch time shots. How many time he saves the Bulls to the jaw of defeat with his patented buzzer-beater/last second shots (remember against Cleveland, against Utah). He did this too against the favored Georgetown Hoyas in NCAA Finals in 1982 and he's still a rookie back then.
His legacy to basketball. How many movies have been made with MJ in mind? (Space Jam, Like Mike are good examples)

Small Player - Michael Jordan
Big Men - Hakeem Olajuwon
No guard I've seen has dominated the way MJ did. No center I've watch play has made other great centers look silly the way the Dream has.

The most exciting player ive ever watched would probably have to be Kobe Bryant. He is just so talented in so many aspects of the game, its hard not to like him. he can shoot 3s, he can dunk, he can drive to the hoop, plus he is not too shabby on the defensive side of the ball. With his ability to light it up from just about anywhere, there is no stopping Kobe. This is why Kobe is the most exciting player i have ever seen in the NBA.

Reggie Miller! He is the reason the instant replay exists in basketball. His three point shooting was amazing, and he once scored over ten points in less than 15 seconds (i think was 15). He practically never missed a free throw, and is one of the best shooters ever. Period. MJ may have had the dunks, but Miller could outshoot him any day of the week. Search for some videos of him on youtube, his shot was amazing.

Okay, for "exciting" it would have to be Dominique Wilkins. His nickname was Human Highlight Film because of his exciting plays.
I'm not one who likes dunks but Nigue's dunks were tremendous and EXCITING. He and MJ are the only ones to win the NBA Dunk Contest twice.
There was a game 7 of a series with Boston Celtics. It came to the 4th quarter and became a two man show between Nique and Larry Bird. They traded baskets throughout the 4th. It was amazing. Nique ended up with 47 points but Bird's team got the win by only 2 points. Bird had 20 of his total points in that 4th quarter.
So, since you asked for exciting.....Nique was exciting.

Well as much as I hate to say a Tar Heal- Michael Jordan was truly amazing. He could make the impossible possible. There where times when you thought he would never get to the basket and he did... and you just sat there and you couldn't say anything you where so amazed. Michael played with determination that you can only be born with. Anyone who plays the game of basketball should have a lot of respect for Michael Jordan.

of my generation id have to say kobe, i was too young to fully appreciate the greatness of stars such as magic johnson, larry bird or michael jordan which is whay id have to say kobe bryant. what man do you know even has a slight chance of coming close to kobes 81 in the nba today. i honestly believe that feat of kobes is highly underappreciated by these so called sports analysists, but everyone is entilted to their opinion. besides that what man can pull off the razzle dazzle that kobe can when he performs does obscene double clutch, behind-the-back, behind-the-backboard lay-ups/dunks. what man can give you the thrill of sending chills down your spine when theirs 5 seconds left on the clock, the lakers are down by two and the ball is in kobes hands. i regret that i cannot fully compare the greatness of kobe to that of air jordan, or magic, or larry legend. but regardless i am firm in my decision that kobe is one of the most, if not THE MOST exiciting player in the NBA ever.
ps: this is strictly for basketball, when i make this decision i withdrew from my consideration al of kobes off-court antics and rants so i can be fair in my judgment.
