You have got to get on a written budget. Before the month begins, write down where every dollar will be spent. Savings is included in this. This takes discipline and is not an easy process to get going. Your first 2 months' budgets probably won't work and many people give up at that point. Stick with it. The 3rd month should have a budget that is starting to work. If you are like I used to be, I would spend money throughout the month and have no idea where it went. With a budget, I was able to control my spending and have money left over.
I'm sure there are many places on the internet to get advice on budgets. The one I used was daveramsey.com. Great advice and a common-sense approach to budgeting.
If you are not working 40 hours per week right now, get a job where you can. If you are working 40 hours per week, a part time job is a great way to get back on your feet. Take some classes and read to improve your knowledge which will help you make yourself more valuable in the workplace and that translates into more money.

If you only have $200 to spend after bills maybe you should go for a second job until some of your bills are paid off, may be you could get a job stocking shelves in a grocery store at night for 2-3 hrs. a night until your bills start to go away. This is one way you could save a little at a time. Buy a large size piggy bank, one hopefuly you can't access unless you cut it open and at the end of each day either put all of or half of the change you collected during the day in it. I know it's a slow start, but you'll be amazed at how fast that can add up and how fast if you make it a habit and if the bank is one you can't access unless you cut it open can add up. You won't be so tempted to rob your bank until it's full and then cut it and bank it to the big bank. We call this banking our money. It works if your dedicated to it we have one bank with "I estimate" about $4,0000.00 in it and we're about half way on our second one. This has taken us about 3 yrs. to collect, it's worth it and I feel good about it. One last note when ever you have a spare paper bill bank it to, also when ever your out and you see a penny or any kind of change on the ground bend down and pick it up, it only takes a couple of seconds and that adds up to. I'm a single mother of two school age girls, who has seizures and on disability and the father "my boy friend" of my girls was killed in an auto accident a few years back and since then we've been saving this way. I only have $2000.00 to budget with every month and we do just fine. Good luck.

You almost make $2000 a month, so I would suggest cutting your bills down a bit. Maybe limiting your text messages on your cell, getting rid of features you don't need. If you have cable, try getting rid of all movie channels and getting Netflix instead. Also, be mindful of your energy usage at home...shutting off lights when not needed, turning your AC to a few degrees higher, etc.
Another thing you can do is try consolidating all credit card debit to one card.
Lastly, do you have 401K coming out of your check? Or maybe company stock, savings, etc? Try cutting those down as well, at least for now that way you'll have more money for other things like food and gas. I've done this, I completely got rid of satalite, and 2 credit cards...and that saves me easily $120-$140 a month.

I 100% agree with 5_for_fighting. A written budget is your answer. It's amazing where you can cut spending by looking at exactly where your money goes every month. If you have any debt, getting a second job it a great way to pay it off. Also, pay cash for everything, don't use credit cards. You will spend less that way.

Best way to save money is pay yourself first and then pay your bills-whats left goes to saving. I think you don't have enough to pay yourself first though. Depending on how old you are and what you know, I'd invest in education instead of a part-time job. If your have a degree then find out if your getting paid the average amount at salary.com
Also you just need to look at where all your money goes and find out what you'll willing to give up.

Unplug anything that's instant on, like color TV, stereo, etc. It uses around 40-50 dollars of electric a month when you are not using these items.
Carry your lunch, and do not buy coffee outside. Don;t smoke. Ave save save. go to garage sales and look at used and also, very high quality clothes in Rich areas. I got 30 dollar gap pants like new for 3 dollars.

One way that really helped me save money was direct deposit. It's easier to spend money if you have it in your hands. Find ways to save money such as cheaper places to buy groceries, use things that will stretch. open a savings account and make sure no matter what you put a little in it each pay period. give up things you really dont need. like junk food, look into cheaper phone plans, cable, internet,
