We understand that communism and socialism do not work! Communism has failed everywhere it has been tried. The US is an economic and military superpower who's power is unrivaled. We are the greatest nation in history! We can thank our fore fathers who were enlightened enough to create the freedoms that communism and socialism would take away.
God bless America. For God and country!

Communism worked wonders for Russia, didn't it?
Communism punishes individual achievement, which is the hallmark of our society; The Amerocan Dream was that a poor person could come into this country with only the clothes on his back and with hard work, creativity and desire, could carve itself a better life for him and his family.
Ask Sergei Sikorsky, son of Russian immigrant Igor Sikorsky, who built the R4; the world's first helicopter and founder of Sikorsky Aviation, makers of the CH-53 Super Stallion, the MH-53J Pave Low III and the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter.
No, people that want to stunt individual excellence and replace it with a wellfare mentality and the mentality that the government should be there to be a crutch to everyone that can't (or don't want) to work for what they want are called "communists" and is a very accurate description.

It's actually a bit scary to me that not one reply so far has defended communism. Granted that no "experiment" in communism has really succeeded, it is not a totally bad idea.
You have only to contrast it to pure capitalism to see the benefits.
A great many people believe that we all have an equal chance in this world. Multi-millionaires will say that people are poor because they didn't try. Come on, people. I am not a poor man. I've worked all my life, and I'm 62. I have less disposable income now than I had when I was 30. Why is that? Figure it out. Me, I could go for a bit more socialism.

Communism is lifeless? Ever heard of China? You did a great task of splitting hairs over Korea and Cuba regardless that. But what leads you to worry? Americans do not worry Communism, we hate it, despise it. Personally, my emotions are extra alongside the strains of an unholy wrath. I do not worry Communism to any extent further than I worry my possess shadow. Communism kills folks. In numbers giant ample to be known as genocide. And in smaller numbers which might be known as Allied Forces. Too many persons have died already. Let Communism take its flip at being murdered.

it's a catch word that we were inculcated with as children, it instill fear, and fear is easily transferred into hate. after all we hate what we fear and we fear what we don't know. WE see communism as China and USSR although neither is or was truly communist. We perceive communist as totalitarian such as USSR was and China often is. But that is also why they are not truly communist. I spent ten years with the anti- communist movement not because it was communist per say, but totalitarian. Too bad that the die hard Right wingers are totalitarian too. It's not about the economic system it's about Justice and freedom. If people choose communism so be it.

Real communism has never worked on a large scale. What I am afraid of is a totalitarian society gaining too much power. This can happen at either end of the political spectrum. Don't trust any government that wants to take your stuff for your own good.

Communism is a system of government that is doomed to fail. Liberals believe in personal freedom and responsible private enterprise. I find that most conservatives that label liberals as communists don't really know what a liberal or a communist actually believe.

Because communist nations like the USSR and China have killed millions of their own citizens in order to achieve their communist goals. These are historical facts.
Militant communism is responsible for an amount of death comparable to the holocaust.
This is also why people fear and demonize religions, because militant religion is responsible for the deaths of billions.
Militant ideology of ANY kind results in mass death. Communists are usually militant because people don't like to be enslaved and at the mercy of any state, but that is what communism is. So they have to force people to give up their wealth and privacy, or their lives, at gunpoint.

This is a re-run question!
Uh, did you ever read about Hitler, and what he done to over 9 million Jews and Christians?
Would you want someone to tell you whether or not you have a right to live in the house you live in or not?
Or how much food you can have?
Would want someone to tell you that you can't go anywhere, and see different places and buy new things?
Communism would affect every citizen, because it would take away ALL your Freedom!
Do you like your Freedom?

why do the American right wing call anyone who does not share their views 'communist'
??
I don't.
This sounds like a typical extreme left point of view to me.
