What much I read of his "works" sounds like banal facts like "the sun comes up in the east" that have no value. I would appreciate if you do not copy/paste from Wikipedia for answer.

i would say his emphasis on language, and "language games" is very significant,
and like many things, yes something stated may seem obvious, but if others dont recognize it, obviously it wasnt so obvious

language does play an important part in our lives, both daily, our interactions with others, and our discussions of issues
and its not just a matter of simply being words with definitions, as Wittgenstein pointed out, people have various definitions, and we apply concepts and views concerning certain words, and words can cause various reactions among different people, so his concept that language is like a game, in a game someone makes a move, and this causes a reaction , is true
and while yes, we all perhaps should/should have known this, i dont think many really think about it, or had before his work

here is one example i can think of,
a co-worker of mine used the word "snot" in just ordinary conversation, that is not really a word used in my life, by those i associate with, yes of course i know what it means, lol, but i was shocked to hear a grown woman use it, it wasnt simply a word, i attached concepts , not very good ones, of the type of person who would use such language, while really, it may of been a common word used in her life, it has nothing to do with the quality of her basic self, but yet that one little word distanced me from her,
and i think that was a main point Wittgenstein made
