Tried the fake one but went and bought a real one. I love the smell of a real tree. Last year we went and cut our own down.

Fake all the way. When I was younger my aunt and uncle's real tree had hidden pine cones inside. The heat inside their house woke up loads and loads of bugs and their house got infested. From that moment on I decided to never use a real tree!

Fake one upstairs for the kids to thrash with unbreakable ornaments, and a real tree downstairs where I can keep an eye on it 24/7.
