For the most part I do. I love the anti war anti Bush crowd. I get them all worked up and then ask them quietly. Do you know why we are in Iraq? And that normally shuts them up.

I do have a couple of neighbors that have opposing views from mine, and we do talk politics sometimes. But we're careful, like porcupines, we do have to live next door to one another ;-). That's what is so great about YA Politics though, you can be more forceful, emphatic, and verbal about what you believe without fear of an argument getting out of control. It can be very therapeutic sometimes.

If my neighbor had opposing political views and felt as strong as I do about my views, we wouldn't discuss them. I have a very dear friend who is also very conservative. We learned early in our friendship, that he wasn't going to change me and I wasn't going to change him. Why would I limit my friendships to only one political persuasion?

Yes I would. In fact, I've already set fire to his house three times because he refuses to admit that the speed limit on our cul-de-sac should be raised to 65mph. I killed the other neighbor's cat because he tried to impose his views on morality on me and my sheep.

wish i could.

my neighbors don't speak english and i don't speak spanish.

but i do think it's rather hypocritical to talk one way to a person on the internet and another way in person.

if you have any guts, you act the same way, regardless.

Sure do, but I highly doubt you do.
I get along well with people that i know, who have opposing political views, because I don't hear as much extremist nonsense from them, as I hear here on Yahoo.
I also don't hear them saying stuff like..."round up all libs", or any of the silly stuff, because they know my .357 makes a bigger hole than their little snub-nosed pea shooter.

No thanks. I have to live next door. Two things I don't do is discuss politics or religion with people. If they start in, I just say I have to go and leave. It works great.
