Sorry.
Seniors don't like seventh graders.
You won't stand a chance,
So just be yourself
With all your other dorky seventh grade friends.

That, my boy, is a search for what is within only your actual reach, yet only visible by an adult's perception level in most cases...
Truly it takes luck of the draw combined with some level of quick wits...!
Unfortunately the luck would have to be geared in the direction of being good looking, good at something other kids of the 7th grade find entertaining and politically quick witted enough to travel the path of clicks and silliness...
Try this for size:
1. Be yourself
2. Accept others and their differences in good humor and kindness.
3. Act with absolute confidence even if you are afraid. But in a humble way.
4. Know what is in (trends), but don't allow yourself to be consumed as they change and you may get stuck in one trend.
5. Be were things are happening. Those seen will be remembered.
6. Avoid talking too much... avoid putting the proverbial foot in the mouth! It is always a product of social anxiety.
Good luck

As brash as the first two answers (at least...) sound, they're not kidding. It's really hard to be cool in middle school. The people every one else thinks of as "cool" aren't really... they just have money. I didn't develop my own personality until 10th grade at least; before that I tried to do the same thing everyone else did... fit in. Which isn't cool. Forget about the rich kids, try to be yourself, keep your head down 'til high school (when people don't mind if you're different)... and above all else: don't let the man get you down. Good luck out there.

Aren't you the guy with the gangster friend? One hint. Don't join him on his quest to gangster-ness. Haha...I remember seventh grade. Don't worry, no one can be "cool" in seventh grade. Why would you want to be cool anyways? It's way more fun to just be yourself!

Learn. Don't be hot. The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative. Always finish with spell check. Always give (too bad there is no grammar check) credit to your sources, do not plagarize. Increase your vocabulary with purpose. Competency should always come become fidelity, choose your close friends wisely, and make all friends. Respect your enemies with dignity and self respect. Your duty is your right and your right is your duty.
Stages of life by Erick Erickson:
Stage One Oral-Sensory: from birth to one, trust vs. mistrust, feeding;
Stage Two Muscular-Anal: 1-3 years, autonomy vs. shame, toilet training;
Stage Three Locomotor: 3-6 years, initiative vs. inadequacy, independence;
Stage Four Latency: 6-12 years, industry vs. inferiority, school;
Stage Five Adolescence: 12-18 years, identity vs. confusion, peer relationships;
Stage Six Young Adulthood: 18-40 years, intimacy vs. isolation, love relationships;
Stage Seven Middle Adulthood: 40-65 years, generativity vs. stagnation, parenting;
Stage Eight Maturity: 65 years until death, integrity vs. despair, acceptance of one's life.

The Erikson life-stage virtues, in the order of the stages in which they may be acquired, are:
hope
will
purpose
competence
fidelity
love (in intimate relationships, work and family)
caring
wisdom '

7th grade is a tough year. The only thing I can tell you is not to pick on other kids to try to make yourself look cooler. It's mean and It very uncool.
