Fabula agenda est

Literally, 'The play must be performed' .

It's the same type construction as a well-known Latin statement that came down to us as: 'Cartago delenda est.' - Carthage must be destroyed. This, or some similar statement, was at the end of every speech Cato made in the Roman Senate - and helped spur the Third Punic War and the end of Carthage.

To Hufflepuff - It really takes a future passive participle.

Darn--that would require some tricky latin grammar--it might require knowledge of gerunds or gerundives or imperatives with subjunctives. The person above me didn't translate it right with the "must," and the person below me used Spanish. I doubt any Latin student on this board would know how to do it (though perhaps there is a Latin professor or teacher on?). At any rate, you cannot literally translate that phrase into Latin.

munus agendum est.

The show must be done.

A munus was a gladiatorial show. You probably want to say fabula, which was a play such as the type that Plautus and Terence wrote.

Just another option for you.

To hufflepuff, you can say it actively. "opportet munus pergere" but I wouldn't :)
