My 2005 ford escape gas petal stuck when I step on the brakes on the freeway. I stepped on the brakes and the gas petal was still accelrateing. It happened 2 times in 1 day and then happens no more. What could be the problem.

the cable could be fraying and it probably will get worse.

If you had the cruise control on , expect a recall notice shortly from Ford.

The acceleration sensors or computer control box are fried.

Your throttle is sticking, don't drive till you fix it.
