i have qwest dsl and a actiontec modem. i've been getting disconnections atleast 3 or 4 times a day and i wanna know how i can fix it. when it disconnects the internet light on the modem goes out and the dsl light just keeps blinking. to get the internet running agian i have to turn off the modem and turn it back on..and it's getting really annoying. so any help is appreciated!

This is a problem on your providers side or with your equipment. Contact your provider and put a troble call in and request a new modem.

It most likely is your DSL modem, however to try and rule out other possibilities; ensure your phone line is in good condition. Check to make sure the phone wires behind the plate are connected to the post firmly and free of dirt, dust and grime. It may also be a problem with loop wiring in your house.

If your phone lines go from room to room to room you may want to consider having a line home-run to your telco's network interface usually located near your power meter. That would eliminate the possibility of something in between causing a problem.
