Mosquitoes are pests whose larva provide food for Dragonfly nymphs and Bats. The first 2 are an essential part of the food chain for Bats. Bats consume an average of 170 mosquitoes an hour. Missouri has several Bat species, one or two of them are on the endangered species list.
