The American news media is controlled indirectly by the various branches of government. The media tycoons donate x amount of dollars to campaigns. The politician makes them promises which they knowingly either can or cannot keep. Then, as the need arises, they apply pressure for a slant/bias in the direction they want, regardless of whether it goes along with the truth.

Another major problem is the tremendous gap in history. Little to nothing is taught of Southern and Eastern European history from the end of Constantine's reign up to the 20th century. Many people don't know that Serbia was a slave state under the Ottoman turks for 500+ years; or, for that matter, that tens of thousands of Serbs died in 1389 on the fields of Kosovo to prevent the invading Ottoman forces from gaining a foothold into Europa proper.

They may know that a Serb named Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Archduke Ferdinand. But do they know that he, along with his fellow group of freedom fighters, simply wanted to rid their homeland of Austro-Hungarian oppression? Or that 1.5 million Serbs died during the fighting that ensued? Yes, it may have been the "official" spark of WWI, but believe me, read any foreign history books, and they'll all tell you that tensions were high enough that it was only a matter of time.

And let's look at WWII. Serbs were an ally to the Allied powers. They fought against the invading Nazi forces, their Croatian counterpart (the Ustasha), Mussolini's fascists, and even the mujahadeen brought into Bosnia. Even with all this, Serb forces still rescued hundreds of American pilots shot down over their skies, as well as help as many Jewish immigrants from neighboring countries escape persecution (the most famous being Madeleine Albright, Clinton's attack dog). The death toll of WWII was over two million Serbs.

Even now, Serbs are once again being maligned. The whole Kosovo situation is just a leftover scam from the Clinton regime. During the illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, the U.S. built military bases in Kosovo. Being such a brazen move, I'm guessing they thought their plan was a sure thing. Well, reality set in. Kosovo is the heart and soul of Serbia; but that's for another discussion:

So you see, throughout history, Serbs have done nothing but try to defend Christianity and the Western way of life. How do we get repaid for our efforts? Our enemies hate us, but our allies harm us even more...

The propaganda was very successful. The fact is, the Serbs were on the side of the US, Britain, France, and Russia in both world wars, suffered a real genocide in WWII in Croatia and Bosnia, and were very pro-American and pro-Western. Many Serbs were Anglophiles, Francophiles, and American culture is still very present there. Serbs had good relations with Jews (and still do), yet Western European Jews and Jewish Americans were on the vanguard of the anti-Serb hysteria. The Serb enemies - the Croats, Bosnian Muslims, Germans, Albanians, Hungarians, Turks, etc. - were precisely the Central/Axis powers and the perpetrators of aggression and genocide in both world wars. So, the fact that propaganda was able to reverse all those positive views and relations is really quite astonishing. But it succeeded, and it will take a very long while before it is reversed. Fortunately, younger generations are not as aware of the alleged "crimes" of the Serbs (i.e. they did not hear the false allegations in real time and hysteria in the 1990s) and the history textbooks are unable to print outrageous media statements such as "100,000 killed Albanian men" with no evidence (well, the UN has actually found 4000 dead Albanians AND Serbs in Kosovo, which is about 25X less than the media claimed).

If I understand my history correctly, weren't civilian Serbs very helpful to allied troops during WWII? I personally feel that the treatment the Serbs have received from the west has been disgraceful. The Serbs stood alone to save Europe from Muslim conquerors for centuries.
So no, not everyone is so gullible.

NATO did not something to them. it is what they did not try this somewhat sucks. they did not do something with reference to the Serbian church homes being burned and the Nun's being raped. although they did bomb Serbia. The Serbs are offended at not in simple terms NATO, however the the remainder of the west. to not say they are anti-west. they are in simple terms offended on the west for what they have achieved to them. They went in to end "ethnic-cleansing" yet in a roundabout way Serbs ran away as quickly as they got here. it variety of feels as though they contributed to the ethnic-cleansing against Serbs. So yeah i think of anger against them is extremely comprehensible.

Milosevic took a great deal of pride ordering the murder of innocent non-serb males (including baby boys and teenagers) and raping girls and women with the sole intent of making serb babies.

Sure the Croats were on the side of the Nazi's during WW2, but many fled the country to avoid the Nazi's too, murdering innocent men women and children for 60 year old crimes is extreme.


Thats why many Serbs who committed these crimes are on the most wanted list in the Hague and thats why many former Scorpions are now driving buses or running the drug trade in your neighbourhood!
