hello,
i have regular 28-day cycle. and i get my period at 11pm. would i count that day as day one or do i count that as day 2. im just asking because it is really late in the day so im just a little confused

Great question!

As long as it starts before midnight, I always counted it as that day, as long as it's a red flow.

If at 11pm you are only lightly spotting, that doesn't count as a period and you would wait until you see red flow and then count that as Day 1 of your cycle.

No, you would count the next morning as Day 1.
It's just a couple of hours difference.

If you are trying to get pregnant at home with no medical intervention then day 1 would be the first day you see red flow--even if it's at 11pm. If you are using fertility treatments then you count day 1 as the first day of red flow that begins before 5pm.

I don't know the "correct" answer, but I always counted it as day 1 even if I started at 11 pm.

According to my mom (an ob-gyn nurse) it really doesn't matter which way you choose. Personally, if it was that late at night, I'd count it as the next day (i.e., if I got my period late Tuesday night, I'd record it as starting on Wednesday).
