I sometimes remove the sparkplug, pour a cap full of gas in the cylinder, then quickly reinstall the plug and fire it off. Usually gets it going.

Go buy a cheap spray bottle and spray the gasoline in from the side. Or, you can find the gas line nipple where the hose from the tank goes to, and hook up an external funnel to pour the gas into the carb. Just go buy some gas line hose, proper size, and hook it up to the carb, just like from the gas tank. Done that many a time. You should pull the carb off, and clean it out, it's probably all junked up inside, and needs cleaning anyway. Don't waste time with pouring gas into it. Do it the right way.

Use a 1/4 inch nut and bolt to block the hole under the air cleaner and then put a few drops in the carb making a small puddle around the bolt's head. Pull the thing a few times and zooom. Remove the bolt and reinstall the air cleaner

Don't waste your time.
The carburetor is no good anyway after all that time.

Use a half inch wrench and remove the carbuetor bowl nut and pull the bowl off.
I'll bet at's ALL corroded.

Try firestart or a different cold car starter. Usually comes in a spray form.

I would stand the lawnmower up on its edge and try to start it.
