It's not a one way street. There are gays who are violent towards straights as well. They just don't bother you, so you aren't aware of them. It not an exclusive club.

Dear Carmen,
Because KIDS have to prove how heterosexual they are... By going to prison and sleeping with a big burly dike for the rest of there lives.
In all honest I don't have a REAL answer for you other than that I think KIDS [Say between 3 and there mid 20's?] have to "prove" how grown up they are... They aren't of course. And that just serves to make the need more immediate. The problem with this idea is that their lack of maturity and experience leaves them with no guidelines for dealing with the unexpected or unknown. So they overreact.
I'm sorry you turned out to be there teacher :~(
Hugs,
PennyAnn

People are dumb.
They assume you like every girl in school just because you are lesbian - which is obviously no way to treat anyone - gay or straight.
Straight people that hate gay's seem to find themselves above others, and feel the need to get violent to prove it.
I hope you will lead a full and wonderful life.
Take care, love.

I think it's because they think it's not "normal." They aren't used to people who are naturally attracted to both genders or the same one. I like everyone just they way they are, I have no problem with anyone being different I guess. And you should have told that girl "Sorry, I only like pretty girls," or "Sorry, keep dreaming, you wish I want you!" That would have been good.

No one should attaack anyone based on their gender. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like gay people then just stay away, but there's definitely no need to be violent, unless of course provoked!

It's fear mixed with hate. It is unfortunate that we haven't come farther than this as people. I will say it again:
Erase the Hate!
I truly am sorry that you have to put up with that sort of insanity.
I overcame my ignorance years ago, and hopefully we will come around as a country!

Maybe she thought you were prettier than her. Sadly, some people don't need an excuse to be stupid.

Fear and ignorance breeds violence but if you're hitting on straight people, you're causing your own problems.
