This is another question that I am asked in my assignment, and I wasn't sure if they mean similar boiling points, densities, etc... or what?

They can have more than one oxidation number.
They form colored compounds.
They all act like metals.

They have variable charges. They can give up differing numbers of electrons. Such as Iron II and iron III, for example. Plus they are all metals.
