I've been a Rush fan since 1978, possibly '77 (hard to remember exactly, but around the time A Farewell to Kings came out). I'm 45 now. Been following the band all these years. Sometimes been a bit disappointed, but probably just because, for awhile, they got away from the HEAVINESS that they possessed.
Happily, I found that, around the Counterparts album, and definitely with Test for Echo, they returned to a HEAVINESS that seemed to really pervade their songs. I was taken back somewhat by Vapor Trails lack of Alex's classic soloing, but he did some different things, and DEFINITELY HEAVY!
Snakes and Arrows is a BRILLIANT album. I bought it the day it was released! Over the years I have developed much more toward the acoustic side of things, and they REALLY kicked my butt this time around with the emphasis on acoustic instruments in most of their songs this time around.
This band continues to inspire me. They seek to be themselves, and remain true to their convictions, and their talents, not resting on their past laurels.
There's some GREAT interviews out there right now, by the way.

like their last 2 or 3 releases, there are a few good songs on each cd, and the rest of the songs are fillers.....but granted, they are wayyyy past their prime, and can't be putting out platinum records anymore

my brother says RUSH ROCKS!!!!!!!! and so do i and this cd is a must buy
