Elvis was supposed to be coming to the area and play with the band PearlJam. I was living in Georgia, listening to the radio, a popular rock'n roll station. Couldn;t believe my ears.

Elvis is dead??
Okay...it was a memorable idiot husband and idiot brother-in-law moment. My sister and b-i-l were having a fish fry. Idiot husband and I got there to find b-i-l and a female guest emotionally devastated, and totally drunk, because Elvis had died. So, idiot husband decided now was the time to point out that the Beatles had sold more albums than Elvis. So they got in a huge argument.
Not one of those better moments.

Are you talking about Elvis Presley?? You threw me off with the Pearl Jam thing.
If you're talking about Elvis Presley, then I was at a friends house when I heard it on the news. I was eight years old at the time.

I was 7 years old on vacation at Nags Head...Star Wars was in theatres..Dad took the kids to the movies while Mom stayed at the hotel severely depressed. Wow! Long time ago!

I was at the WI state fair and just happened to be at the local TV booth when the news came on. We had just won tickets to see Kenny Rogers and Tanya in concert.

I was actually Jamming with my band,and if i remember correctly we were playing Unchained Melody as a messabout,It came on the radio.
We were pretty shocked to hear the news,and pretty freaked out considering we were playing one of his songs (well one he's played)

Uh...I was at McDonald's with my cousin, and some girl I know from Jr. High came in and told me. I couldn't believe it either.

I was outside playing in the woods with the kids from the street. My father came out and announced Elvis had died......I guess I was 10 or so.
