The longest one I know of is:
"Subterfuge For 3 Absynths" by "Covenant" is 42:08 - though it's basically just "electronic noise"
-----------------------
But from what I was able to find out, the answer is actually:
"The longest analog tape recording known was created by music act Book Oven, a Madison, Wisconsin band with otherwise little fame, known predominantly for their locally successful song, "Snarling, Wet Dogs"."
The song "Chew and Hiccup" is 240 minutes long and was recorded in one sitting in drummer Tibs's basement apartment. The song was originally about 263 minutes in length, but had to be curtailed due to technical requirements. The feat was accomplished by using two separate 120 minute tapes spliced together and looped on a modified 1/4" reel to reel.
The song consists of random noise stretched over sometimes melodic beats that turn from havoc to organized trite music. The musicians declared that their intention was to "draw out the spasms of the minutiae of the work place and to think less and drink more upside down and **** your wet cock mommy for asking."
An art show opening at the Catacombs Cafe in Madison exhibited the recording along with art from band members Tibs and Jeff, as well as the socially active and somewhat mysterious "Kool Klub" (see review in Slingshot #45 and in Rick's Cafe August 2003).
-------------------------
And for those who were asking about "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" - it's only 17:08 ;);););)

I easily have some that fill an entire 80 minute cd.examine with Guiness e book of international information.i understand that that are symphonies that take countless hours to accomplish yet thats a distinctive style.Realistically a techno song ought to circulate on indefinitely as long as there is electrical energy.

well, i'm not sure if the below songs are the longest songs in the world, but they are 7 + minutes long.
If you're looking for some slow ballad, you'd want "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
If you're looking for something to dance to, you'd want something like "LoveStoned" by Justin Timberlake.
These aren't the only songs out there that are super long, but they're all I can come up with.
I hope it helps!
