I do go to the grocers for some things but I buy my eggs from a local farmer. I grow my own vegetables and my husband does the fishing. We have friends who hunt so we get venison. I would rather pay the extra money for fresh than to go to the grocer. I make bread and cookies, etc. I can as much as possible, too. This year has not been as abundant for my garden but we'll still do okay.

I go to the Farmer's Market for fruits and veggies.

It is less than a mile from my house and the food is fresh and about half the price of any of the 5 Supermarkets that are within a five mile radius of my home.

I also feel like the farmer gets more of the proceeds if I make the purchase at the farmer's market.

Farmers markets are great. They mostly grow their own. However, sometimes it is product that is shipped in just like the stores. If you get what is in season, you will know it is from the farmer. If in doubt, just ask if it is local grown. Often times, the stores can get a better deal on their produce because they purchase in such large quantity. It may not be cheaper, bet it is fresher. You should definitely try it out. If you don't like that farmers market, then take a ride in the country and look for a road side stand.

Supermarket if I need certain items. And the market if I want a bargain, the meat and fruit and vegetable are always fresher and cheaper than at the supermarket, but now we are having a problem with the pork being double dead so no pork at the market for now . Have a great day !

I love the farmer's market because the produce is fresher.

But, I can't pass up my favorite supermarket. It has a cafe, makeup, hair stuff, ice cream, chocolate, food.....All the things a girl loves!

If I don't grow it then I get it at the farmers market. It's local, it's fresh. During the summer I eat fresh veggies and friuit as much as possible. In winter I am stuck w/ fruits and veggies that come from far away and are not near as good or fresh.
Good question CG!
