i was shown how it was done but i dont remember. does anyone know what im talking about? it leaves it like it was new. but it erases all memory.

There are a lot of types of memory for computers. Based on your question, I'm going to assume your refering to your hard drive.

You need to find your original Windows XP disc. If you purchased the computer with the OS, you probably have a restore disc.

Find this disc and put it in your CD/DVD drive, restart the computer and as the computer is booting up it will ask something like "Press any key to boot from disk" Press a key and it will start the process of reloading your OS. This will erase everything on your hard drive and restore it just like it was new.
