I don't suppose you could quote the exact statements? It's impossible to comment without them.

[REPOST] Ok, since you won't direct me to the specific verses, I browsed the whole thing. Didn't see any reference to expansion or to galaxys, lots of fairly accurate observations of the motion of the stars, moon, and sun... was informed by the angel that the days in a year were 364, pretty close but discernible by observations of the time...no mention that I saw re the evolution of the universe... did claim that the light of the moon came from the sun during it's first half cycle from new moon to full moon, then claimed it's light came from the heavens in the second half (understandable theory for the time, he had no way of knowing that the moon was still in th light of the sun throughout its cycle).... also claimed that the moon and the sun were the same size, which of course is not true. He didn't appear to have any concept of any of the heavens being more than 1 specific distance away, and no mention of planetary motions that I saw, even though ancient Egytians and Greeks predating him studied their cycles which are different from the rest of the heavens.

Did I miss something?

The book of Enoch is not in the canonical Bible (at least not the King James and related versions) and there just could be a good reason for that. Was it thought to be unreliable?

The easiest explanation for this is that you're mistaken.

An English translation of the book of Enoch is online, and it says no such thing.

If that's true then why did it take another 2,000 years for someone to actually realise that's what it said? Hmmm? :-)

Re-interpreting scripture in the light of real scientific discoveries is a favourite pastime of theists.
