My question is - How much of what you hear the candidates say they will do as President do you believe? Do you think any of them will really make any positive changes? Looking for serious answers!

I prefer to look at what they have already done in the offices that they now hold or have held in the past. I look at the way they have voted on issues and bills in the past but I also like to see why they vote a particular way. I hate it when someone reports that so and so voted no to a particular bill. They never include information on any riders that may have been attached to that bill that would have caused someone to vote no.

A lot of people fail to realize that there are many riders attached to every thing that goes up for vote and that some of those riders can be harmful. All they look at is the original bill and not the other things attached to it.

I hope I made sense here.

Dennis K. gave the audience tons of red meat judging from their response. I can remember thinking that I could vote for him because I liked his attitude, but he has a snowball's chance in heck of winning the dem nomination. The truth is when a politician tells a group what that group wants to hear, the politician seems to be full of baloney. Kucinich comes across to me as being honest, but he appeals to a small minority of voters. The truth is that congress legislates, not the president. Our democratic controlled congress has not done what they have been elected to do. I do believe if the dems get in the white house taxes are going up. Taxes were raised on oil companies by congress last week.. Who do you think will pay those taxes? They will be passed to the consumer in the form of higher prices and the dems will spend the revenue on pork.

It depends on the candidate, where their money is coming from and what their record is.

When Hillary Clinton makes big, vague promises, I dont believe a word. She lies through her teeth constantly.

Matter of fact, I dont trust 14 out of the 17 candidates currently running when they make promises. The only ones who I think are sincere are Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul.

Kucinich is far too left-wing for my taste, and I disagree with Paul on too many issues to be able to support him.

Which leaves me with Gravel, who is easily the most honest and forthright of the whole bunch. I do trust him. He has the right record, he has the right ideas, and he has courage and integrity. I couldnt ask for more from a presidential candidate.

You should always follow the money...if you want to know who is sincere, and who is not! Who is financing a given candidate's campaign? If a given candidate is being financed by big business, then you can count on that candidate going against the best interest of the people, in favor of the best interest of his/her benefactors!

My first choice is Mike Gravel, and that is who I am going to vote for. My second choice will be Ron Paul, and my third choice will be Kucinich! *sm*

First, like sen. Dodd and Clinton let me add my sincere condolences for the pain you've endured the last 90 minutes and to the point of your question let me say that at least 30 % of what you heard was just political noise

No I think things will just keep getting worse no matter who is elected. And the AFL-CIO is a very biased leftist organization. Keep that in mind too.

It depends on the canidate... you have to see who has a track record and isn't just making faulty promises... Hillary and Barack already lost my vote on that

For the dems I'm rooting for Dennis K.

For republicans Ron Paul

These are the only two that seem worth anything to me

I have been watching and I take their answers in to account but the way they vote in the senate is important as well.
