First of all, I have to say that I'm appalled at the lack of interest in this question. It's no wonder that our country is and has been going to hell in a handbasket since 2000! What is the matter with people? Does it not MATTER what kind of people we elect? Does it not MATTER if our infrastructure disintegrates while we spend 2 billion dollars each WEEK in Iraq? Does it not MATTER that lobbyists and those with money have taken over this country and that the present administration run this country as if they are members of organized crime? Does it not MATTER if people are dying because they don't have adequate health care; that CEOs are telling the doctors what procedures can/can't be performed? The absolute lawlessness, selfishness, and greed are appalling, and yet it does not MATTER that we do something about it by booting them and their ilk from office? Does it not MATTER that only the monied rich in this country can even afford to RUN for office? Does it not MATTER that many, if not most, of our lawmakers' votes are BOUGHT by special interest groups? It literally boggles my mind! If it doesn't MATTER what kind of a country we live in, or what kind of people run our government, then we don't deserve to live here and should move somewhere else!

Since no one has yet to give an intelligent, well-thought out answer to this question, I will try to do that.

Without telling who I support, this is my take.

Hillary is a corporatist through and through. Yet she gives good speeches. I just don't trust her. My one critique tonight of her performance, though, must be this: When she said "...I'm your girl!" She should NEVER have referred to herself as "girl". She should have said "gal" or even better, "woman". Referring to herself as a "girl" somehow diminishes her stature in my eyes. Could you imagine one of the other candidates saying, "I'm your boy?" My response is, I don't want a "girl" or a "boy" leading my country! And I guess I have to also add that her remark about candidates not saying what they think just sat wrong with me. I'm tired of the deceit and secrecy in our present administration, so this makes me very wary.

My main criticism of Barack Obama is that he was a little unsure of himself, hesitated quite often, and I believe gave at least one erroneous answer. Plus, I'm tired of war, period. HE sounds like he would just switch countries, from Iraq to Afghanistan. I think we need an entirely different approach. I did, however, like what he said about "Washington insiders."

My main criticism of Kucinich is that he's beginning to sound more and more socialist/communist. That's not necessarily a bad thing, in my book, as I tend to lean toward democratic socialism, but I think he's just a tad ahead of the rest of us, unfortunately. He just doesn't seem serious enough, but then maybe that appeals to some people.

Biden. He got an awful lot of "boos" from the crowd. I think he may have cooked his goose tonight, considering the response to some of his answers. However, he is correct in saying that America needs to be united. I've never seen such animosity between Democrats and Republicans as I have seen since Bush took office. Biden also pointed out that all the lofty plans of any candidate will come to naught if he/she cannot unite ALL of Congress behind him/her. (something Hillary found out when she tried to pass her healthcare bill in 1993-4).

Edwards. Generally, I liked most of his answers. Although I have to say that tonight he really came down on some of the others, tonight. Perhaps deservedly so. I really like the fact that he doesn't take any money from lobbyists. I also like the fact that he grew up in a working class (father was a factory worker, just like my mother was) household. I like the emphasis he puts on poverty, and I can see a little Robert Kennedy and maybe even a little Roosevelt in him, which I like and which comes across in his answers. I especially liked his stance on having publicly financed campaigns, which would make alot of the campaign finance abuses simply go away, and would also level the playing field for others who might want to run for office in the future.

Richardson. Generally gave some good answers. He just doesn't really stand out, although he does have a good sense of humor. He has some good ideas on immigration and Iraq, and actually, I think on education.

Dodd. Came out very strong, sounding very presidential. He also gave some good answers. I just can't remember any of them.

Gravel - MIA.

You can listen to the debate yourself on MSNBC. Just skip the commentary afterwards, because you know, the media darlings will always be Clinton and Obama. Gee, I wonder why....lol. I think that, considering who the people are that now own mainstream media, the Republicans are hoping that their guy will run against either a woman or a black man. So that's how they want to influence people. Have you noticed how much influence the media has in guiding people's opinions?

Although he's not a high profile candidate, if you listen to who's really been fighting in Congress for getting us out of Iraq, strengthening labor laws, and even impeaching the most corrupt and inept administration this country has ever had, the winner of this debate was Dennis Kucinich. When asked about issues, he didn't give a long-winded speech about what he was going to do. He spoke of all the resolutions he's currently bringing to the Congress now. The press should be more fair and give him some mention too.

In order from 1st to last:
1st-Hillary. The crowd cheered after EVERYTHING she said. I thought she was the most eloquent. If she just got a face lift she'd look 20 years younger. (My personal favorite)
2nd-Kuccinich. He had them eating out of the palm of his hand. He just added something about working class citizens to the end of every statement, and they loved it. Although I thought he was a little over the edge, he definetely had a good feel for what the crowd wanted to hear.
3rd-Richardson. He definetly said a lot of good things. He didn't have much crowd support though. (He is my personal second favorite)
4th-Edwards. He said the right things, even though it wasn't always beleivable. His big mistake was constantly attacking Hillary without mentioning her name, even though people knew who he was talking about. No one wants their fave attacked. He had great hair though. (those $400 cuts paid off)
5th-Obama. Obama was actually pretty bad. He got into an argument with Dodd. He also made comments that some might take to mean he wants to go to war. At the same time he had to play the tough black guy role though. He sunk down a few spots on my personal list. However he is still the freshest face, and his name looks great in print.
6th-Dodd. He argued with people that are out of his league. He only places 6th because Biden was worse.
Last-Biden. He got booed the loudest by that crwod. They were really angry after he didn't answer the question of the lady whose husband died. Hillary answered previous questions, then answered the one she was asked, but Biden just skipped his questions and answered ones he felt more comfortable with. In addition to booing the crowd also yelled at him "ANSWER THE QUESTION!"

I think Barack Obama won the debate. His highlighting moment (as well as the highlighting moment of the whole event) was when Obama came under attack by Dodd, Clinton, and Biden for his foreign policy speech, yet was able to hold his own quite well. I think that was definitely his greatest moment in his campaign thus far. Clear winner.

OBAMA was the winner. He stood strong on his views and didn't back down when double teamed by Dodd and Hillary. He showed that he is the man for the job.
