A fricken' squirrel ate through a bunch of my wires near my radiator, causing the A/C to fail and make my right turn signal go wacky. Also the check engine light is on too. How much to fix, and how can I prevent this from ever happening again? All advice is welcome.

you can use moth balls to prevent this from happening again,as for the cost on it,it could be well over 300 bucks to get this fixed, they might have to replace that section of harness on it,but the moth balls will keep them out of it,good luck on it.

i strongly recommend you to take that car to a reputable repair shop. I am a certified automotive technician and that kind of repair needs to be tended to by someone who can read and understand a wiring diagram, also you need a scan tool to find out why the light is on, if its not related to the eaten wires in that location. it may have liked more than just those wires. the repair cost is really dependent on labor rates at the shops around you and how long it takes plus the check engine light may require parts as well without seeing your car i cant give you a price for this repair. as far as keeping them out there are several repellents on the market today look into them and see which fits your needs.

#1. If you have compressive coverage on your car it'll take care of the repair.
#2. If you can stand the smell pour some moth balls in areas under your hood where they will not roll away. Leave them there. Deposit more moth balls inside your garage around the foundation. All rodents will vacate the area.

Hmmm i find this hard to believe but ok...

1. Hire a plumber to repair your wires.
2. Make a Box or Some sort of protection to where the wires are located.

This can cost a fair amount.... £50 in my opinion.... Could be more

£50 = $95

track down wires and splice back...local auto parts stores have kits for this job...it is a rare thing to have happen,,i would get the BB gun and bust a cap in his ***...that would stop problem from happening again....moth balls are supposed to work but are messy and smell bad...shoot him!

Best bet, take it to a dealer for the repairs, and see what he would suggest to stop this from happening.
