We live in San Diego, ca and we want to move back to the eastcoast again. I used to live in Michigan. I have never been there and plan to visit the area if we get serious to move there but can anyone tell me if this is a good place to live?

we want something great to raise a family and that is a large city but not huge. SD is a huge city but it lack the forests and the prices are just to high. We have disneyland and 6 flags, a nice downtown and plenty of activities to do. we want to find a place kinda like that but not in the city...

I'm Russian !? that was random that a russian girl would go and get raped.

I have looked into carolina but it seems a little boring there. My best friend lives there and unless it it releigh or charlotte is seems to be a little dead on things to do... virginia seems to have more of the bush gardens theme parks and a large city... no?

I would visit the area before you move here. I like Virginia Beach. But it's crowded in the summer and the wind off the ocean is really cold in the winter. But, you have easy access to Norfolk and Hampton Roads. I would move a few miles inland and look around York County/James City/Williamsburg. Easy access to Virginia Beach (30 to 45 minute drive) and you would be right on top of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

I live in the Richmond area and I enjoy it. Easy drive to the beach, easy drive to the mountains, and an easy drive to DC.

If you really want to live by the beach, and you don't find Virginia Beach to your liking, look south across the line to the coast of North Carolina. I'm not talking Charlotte, or Raleigh. But it's still a lot of fun down there!

Good luck!

I go to VA beach every year on fall break the past 5 years. It is very beautiful place to visit, however, and night time it can get a little out of control, lots of bars which leads to drunks which leads to out of control fights ect. Also there was a russion girl who wondered just off the strip a few years ago and was raped. I dont know much about other places north but you could try to look in to the Carolinas....Good luck

I lived in Virginia Beach for a year and loved it!! The cost of living is a lot cheaper there atleast it used to be! I live in Michigan now but often look back at those days! Ever thought of North Carolina?? It's beautiful there also!
