i am building an htpc with the main goal being to bhave a rig capable to play flawlesly 1080p h264 encoded files.but i wont mind the game from time to time...
the max lenght of the card cant exeed 250mm du to the silverstone case
so what do you think about it. prices are nearly the same

512MB is what most PCs had as RAM, three or four years ago.
you are unlikely to use up even the 256MB (of the XT) with any home application.
if you don't mind paying a little xtra for the faster GPU & DDR, go for the XT; you'll enjoy the faster circuitry and still have more then enough memory.

Depend on what do u want ur PC do the most.....
If gaming...
i'll sugest ATI RADEON 2600XT 256....
For Developer de le....
go for 2600 PRO 512....
more cheaper lo....

2600XT would be faster in games. For HD video, their performance would be the same.

I like the ATI RADEON 2600xt.
