Don't try to tell me you never supported George W. Bush even for a short time. In the weeks following 9/11 Bush's approval rating shot up to 92%, and it didn't fall to 26% overnight.

I supported Bush for quite a while, as well as the Iraq War because like many Americans I believed his lies.

I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt, and he kept letting me down.

Anyway, I stopped supporting him about a year and a half into the Iraq War. What about you?

I disliked him even when he was just a baseball owner.

I supported him on most things until 2006. We were making progress in Iraq up until then, but then the terrorists bombed the Golden Dome mosque in Iraq. That started a lot of sectarian violence, and Bush wasn't doing enough to stop that. He let Al Sadr run free. At that point I stopped supporting his strategy on the war, although I still supported the war in general (I just wanted a different strategy), and I still supported him on most other things, and I still supported him overall. But then in December 2006 or so, when the surge started, he switched to a new strategy where he went after Al Sadr and the rest of the people who were responsible for sectarian violence. And it seems to be working. So now I support him on pretty much everything again.

As soon as Bush was declared president, I thought,
"Here comes a war." Then when 9/11 happened, I was numb for a while, then when i heard about the Presidential Daily Briefing in 8/2001 and how they allowed only Bush's Arab friends leave the country just after the WTC bombing, I lost confidence in him for not keeping us safe. (If that had happened on Gore's watch, the (R)'s would still be blaming him for 9/11!)
When he invaded Afg and went after the Taliban, that was very satisfying, but it's been downhill since.
I was one of the 8%, and now I can't understand those who think he has taken the correct course invading Iraq.
Ugg, Proud of America, but not of Bush.

I stopped supporting him once it became obvious to me that he had no interest in capturing Osama Bin Laden or to eliminate Al Qaida from the face of the planet, and he was bent on invading Iraq.
It just makes me sad that mos American took a long time to come around, and because of this, many American lives have been lost in vain, and our country is now more insecure than ever and Al Qaida is on a comeback. Is funny when people make the argument that we have not been attacked again since Sept 11 because he invaded Iraq. They forget that we had not been attacked before September 11 either. They are trying to prove a negative.

I just don't understand his stance on imigration. That along with his non-conservative domestic views is what I am having trouble supporting. I still support the Iraq war. We need to win!

I am an 8% as well. Voted alternate candidate 2nd time and for the guy that actually won the first time.
I did support Afghanistan however.

I wasn't really a fan from the beginning, he absolutely butchered the negotiations with the Longshoreman back in '01, and it led directly to a christmastime dock lock-out that cost retailers billions of dollars that year.

I set all that aside on September 11, 2001; but his dishonesty about Iraq confirmed my earlier suspicions, as have several of his actions since then.

I have always supported the President, regardless of party. However, after President Bush tried to sell America down the river on "immigration reform", THAT did it for me!!

Always have supported him, always will. You might never agree with your President or his policies, but the least anyone should do is give the one that represents you to the world your support. I don't agree with him on a couple of key issues, but I support him regardless.
