Doctors should get paid for their services by those individuals they treat. Hospitals and doctors should have the right to deny services to anyone they choose. I believe that if government forces doctors and hospitals to provide services, wage garnishment should be placed on those seeking treatment. If patient is here illegally, treat them and deport them otherwise force payment.

Emergency rooms are required to treat patients regardless of their ability to pay. That law was passed by Congress in 1986. You would rather that injured and critically ill people be turned out on the street. I don't understand that.

I don't think all doctors have to treat patients for free. Just hospitals that take government money. And even if the hospital doesn't get paid, they still pay the doctor that worked on the patient.

Some of the answers are disturbing. Doctors are obligated to treat any at all times for $0. Who would be a doctor if this is imposed?

Also, where is the responisbility of the patient in all this? Are they not responsibile for finding health care. Why is it the docotor/government/my tax money's responsibility to ensure others get help?

Just one more ploy used by liberals to continue the slow socilization of our country.

Doctors use to care for their patients. They used to get to known them, spend time with them, help them. Now it's about money. How can I lie to the insurance companies so I get payed for this procedure. How much do I have to charge my patients to cover Malpractice (funny how the insurance companies make the doctor and patient pay into their pockets for the same thing). Doctors used to trade/barter for their services, and it was not so expensive. Where have all these Doctors gone....Every Doctor I run into now has that look...(I'm to busy and this is going to cost you)

Doctors, should be paid. If they wish to donate some of their time to charitible cases they should be encouraged.

Hospitals usually operate under not-for-profit tax free status. In return for this public gift, they become obligated to return service to the community. What's the other option -Let poor people and children die?

A doctor can refuse services to anyone for any reason. However, If it is life threatening then a doctor or a hospital is required to treat them.

How do you propose we force payment? A doctor cannot turn anyone away in the ER, but making them pay is another story. Any ideas would be welcome. Personally I think we should have ICE stationed right out side the entrance.

It depends on the country and state.

But the general answer is the legislators who write the laws.

Whether that's Congress (in the US) or some state or province legislative body depends on what law you're talking about.

Constitutionally, the only prohibition is that someone cannot be denied based on their race, ancestry or national origin.

I easily have been in Angels Stadium, Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Petco Park and despite the call is of that sauna in Miami in crimson Sox kit. all of us treats you with understand/ignores you, different than the american followers. there is only too plenty history there. It makes it relaxing. As on your adventure, i could in no way understand why a Yankee fan could take place at Fenway for a crimson Sox--Tigers sport in Yankee kit. placed on Tiger kit for Heaven's sake. of course you would be the main loathed individual interior the park. easily wearing a Yankee hat interior the city of Boston isn't the brightest of strikes as a conventional count.

OH, we should have to treat illegals?? WHY? According to
your brilliant theory, doctors should be able to pick and choose who they treat. As if that doesn't go against absolutely everything in th hypocratic oath that doctors swear to live by.
