there hasn't even been a formal ADMISSION of GUILT, let alone 'reparations"
The TAX thing, is only for STATE taxes and you ONLY get it IF you live ON the Rez. Regarless of WHERE you work. IF you live off Rez you pay the same taxes as everyone else.
Short answer is NO. Never been reparations.

The Indian Wars were a two-way street; atrocities were committed by both sides.
The Indians did get land agreements, when the U.S. could have further stomped them into the groud. In fact, in Oklahoma, some of the Indian land turned out to be atop major oil reserves.
So no, no reparations necessary. Reparations are for the living, not long dead ancestors or their descendents. You cannot go back into history and right all the wrongs, for in every bloodline there are likely both saints and pirates. You could never balance it out.
Oh, and how about mixed folks? Tell them to write themselves a reparation check?

no there was no reparations. I don't think there will be any either just for the sheer amount of money that would be due. Especially when the government still hasn't paid out royalites and such that the Buerau of Indian Affairs was supposed to be collecting for families from the various mining and gas/oil companies that leased lands on reservations.

YES, the United States has given many reparations to the Native American Indians, but not much is said about it. One group of Native American Indians get a huge check, every year from the Government. Even if they only have 1/4 Indian blood in them , they are eligable for the Government checks. So much goes un-said and lots of the American's don't know much about it. I agree with Texican .

Your definitions are trash, you are ignorant of what constitutes genocide. If you want to learn what it really is look at Cambodia or Sudan.
Genocide is always carried out on the defenseless, never the armed. The American Indians fought a good fight and lost.
You need to study history, the American Indian was as capable of atrocity as any group that has ever lived.
You are a divisive whiner, this is the United States and not your living nightmare.

No, has Italy ever made reparations to Israel for what the Roman Empire did 1900 years ago?
May I add a few dozen other examples?

Well, my mother is American Indian. For the first 4 1/2 years of my life, we lived on a reservation. We did not have to pay taxes there. However, how could anyone pay taxes, many were unemployed. However, the US government believes that by not taxing Natives, they are repaying what they did in the past. One point I have to make: If you don't pay taxes, then the US government won't help you when you ask for it. So in other words, the gov. screwed us over again.

NO, I don't believe so. Reparations for government atrocities will be forthcoming in the not-to-distant future, for everyone, not just one group of people.
