It's not unpatriotic. Cons just take it as a personal attack on their God, Bush.
It's the only way they have to fight back...call everyone that disagrees, unpatriotic.

It's not.
But it is possible to cross the line between criticising a policy - presumably, in the hopes of helping to build a better policy - and actively opposing your country's interests because you disagree with it's policies.
For instance, it's very patriotic and, indeed, one's civic duty if you believe a possible war is wrong, to campaign against going to war. (Right now would be a good time to protest against the war in Iran, for instance, because you could prevent it). It's still arguably patriotic to try to bring a war to a swift conclusion - to accept peace proposals as quickly as possible for instance.
It is not patriotic, though, to work towards your country's defeat in wartime, even if you do not agree with the reasons it's at war. An extreme example might be blowing up a munitions factory because you believe the war it's supplying is wrong.

Many American make the mistake of assuming they have all of the information necessary to second guess those who make foreign policy. Kind of like arm-chair quarterbacking.

You know how the nazis used to consider it "unpatriotic" to criticize Hitler back in the 1930s? Well they're doing the exact same thing in America today.
Right-wing crackpots never change.

It is just a way the morons we have running the country right now are trying to suppress criticisms to their pathetic attempts to govern. Since they believe they were appointed by God, anyone who disagrees with them must be wrong, since God could no make a mistake. So if you are wrong, you must also be unpatriotic.

One of the great things we have in this county is that we can criticize our elected officials over anything and know that we won't be shot afterwards.

Show me constructive criticism first, otherwise criticizing for the sake of political gain at the demise of our country fits the bill in my book.

It's really not -- it's part of our civic responsibility.
Some people just believe in an "all or nothing" ("with us or against us") kind of delusional duality.
The real world is not binary.

Kissing up to a foreign dictator might be, though.
