I recently was crushed by the man I loved for many years. He out of blue tells me hes gay. this is only after 7 years and three kids later, the crush was when he said he has been sleeping with other men for the last 9 years. Tell me, how could a person do this to another person?

He probably wasn't thinking of anyone but himself. He probably was trying to live what he saw as a "normal life" all the while knowing he wanted something else. He didn't mean to hurt you he just wasn't thinking of you. He was caught up in his own issues. I know it's hard but you are truly better off this way. If he was living a lie things were going to get ugly at some point. And now maybe someday you will find an awesome guy who is truly in love with you and puts you as a priority.

Selfishness combined with denial. That's how something like this happens. Selfishness is simply putting ones feelings first, before anyone else's feelings. And denial... the easiest person for anyone to fool is themselves.
