Feel the fear...and do it anyway. I hear that a lot lately, and honestly? The fear is usually worse then whatever it is that I was afraid of.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the mastery over it.

You don't "learn" to face them, you just do them, no matter how afraid you are. The feeling of courage comes after you do something courageous. Feeling follows action.

Don't do anything dangerous that could result in a serious injury though.

If you're afraid of jumping off a tall building, don't do it to prove you aren't afraid.

If you're afraid of speaking in public, practice doing it in front of the mirror and then go do it.

If you're afraid to go out & look for a job, just get up & do it.

Gabrielle, I find it absolutely true that a heart filled with love has no room for fear. Focus on doing what you love, being what you love, serving others and God out of love, and you will find yourself doing things out of love that you would have been afraid to do before. What some call courage is simply a heart filled with so much Divine love that there is no room for fear.

You have to have the courage to face those fears, and stare them down until they no longer frighten you. If you need some assistance, you need to ask someone to help you, but all fears can be overcome, you simply have to want it, really want to overcome that obstacle, and you will empower yourself to be able to do so.

You mean fear and anxiety? Or fear of one particular thing?
The best way to conquer your fear is please talk to a therapist, I have suffered from bad panic attacks for years, it has helped me to over come my fears.
Please look in your local yellow pages under family counseling or mental health clinics. If you don't have insurance they will go by a sliding fee scale of what you can afford.
Best of luck!
If you need to talk click on my profile picture and you can e mail me if you'd like to.

Stop running and look at them for what they are. They aren't that scary.
