It's not the color. It's what the cat is capable of. I just prefer a black one.:)

I've never personally considered black cats bad luck. I was actually raised with the superstition that white cats were bad luck as they often have health problems, therefore a white cat crossing your path is a sign of upcoming poor fortune/luck/health. My mother is Australian and says that such a belief is common there.

I also had a white cat, and he had one blue eye and one green as well. And, I had this great book about cats, so I looked up white cats, and it said all that business about black cats and witches...then it said the same went for white cats in them ole' superstitious days, that they were witches cats...'whoa dude!'
Then I read about white cats with 'funny' eyes, and the book mentioned a breed called a Turkish Van with eyes like that, though usually blue and orange, as I remember. These cats lived around the fishing docks, and were mainly known for swimming out to the boats to get some fresh fish. Nothing about witches.
And that sure fit...my cat loved the water. And fish. And I'm definitely not a witch! And that's it for my pitch! :)

Stereo-types...gotta love 'em.

I am a witch and my cat is an orange tabby. A cat is a cat is a cat. The most important thing is to take good care of it. Feed it, show it affection...etc.

Ok...here is a lil bit of trivia for you. Black cats crossing your path is bad luck, as we all know. However, on Halloween it is considered good luck and a white cat crossing your path is considered bad luck.

Grow up. Some cats are black, others white. Neither symbolises anything. They're cats.

in the old days people saw others talking to their pets ... then made outrageous claims of them being witches and the cats being their familiar (demon sent to help them ) LIES

they were pagans and close to their pets.. i talk to my pets and i believe that they answer me... same thing

the color makes no difference i talk to my dogs to.. their not demons... well i hope not =S

Black cats are beautiful, sleek, and talkitive.

White cats are generally more laid back.

I have both.
