i'm a tattoo artist and in my shop we think it's bad luck to put the birth date because you never want it to have an end date. but if it's important to you i would put the date because it is no ones tattoo but your own. you might want to consider putting an image with the name instead, something that represents the love you feel.

I would put the birth date. I plan on doing this when I am done having kids. My son was born in 2004 (will be 3 on Friday) and last year, the day after my son's 2nd birthday, my husband and I lost a baby girl at 21 weeks and I want a tattoo with her name too. If you are breastfeeding I would wait until you are done, just in case you get an infection, even though the risk is low, it isn't worth it.

I have inspiration approximately it, I have a buddy who did his sons names down his fingers and it appears rather cool. I love tattoos and I suppose that I might get a tattoo of my youngster's title. I suppose I might do some thing rather sensible and some thing that I can conceal if I decide upon to. I have 2 tattoos now however either one of them are simply hidden for while I am at paintings.

I am planning on getting my son's name and birth date around my wrist in a very elaborate script. My boyfriend is going to get his foot print and birth date tattooed as well.

Instead of just the name, why not the tiny foot prints as well? My sis has it and it's cool. name first over the actual footprints with the date under.

I don't think it would be wierd, you may want to explain where you are getting it and how big it is so people can give a better opinion. But no, not tacky at all in my opinion! Congrats on the baby!

Why would it be weird to put the birth date? I know plenty of people that have done this. Strange you would think it to be weird.

Another cute idea is to get it in the color of the baby's birthstone.

wouldn't it kinda look like it was an "in memory" tattoo of someone who has passed on? It seems like those have dates on them - but it's your tattoo and your kid so who cares what other people think.
